Birla planetarium is single storied building located in heart of Kolkata it is typical India structure and similar to Buddhist stupa at sanchi. Birla planetarium is largest planetarium in the world. There is two other planetarium in India one n Chennai and one in Hyderabad but Kolkata planetarium is bigger than other planetarium. It has electronic laboratory for design and fabrication and astronomy gallery.
Daily program conducted in 3 language Hindi, Bengali and English from afternoon 12pm to 7 pm evening. Program occasionally conducted in other language also like Gujrati, Tamil and Oriya.
